Cronin,, Robert O. Small, and Horace W. Woodberry, Jr. Board members absent: Saul J. Cagan, Thomas F. Delaney, Marian P. Motley, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and Fred H. Porter Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, January 31, 1935 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the library on Thursday, January 3 1st at 4 p.m. There were present of the Board, Miss Loring, and Messrs. Cronin, Woodberry, and Small. The records of the Special Meeting of January 3rd were read and approved. Mr. Small then read the letter which had been sent to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, with the budget for 1935, and reported that to date he had not been called to City Hall to discuss the matter. After informal discussion, it was voted that the Circulation Committee, with the Librarian, be asked to prepare a salary schedule for various positions, and with recommendations for step increases, which should be adopted as the policy toward which the Trustees should work. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 67 new titles. Voted: that this recommendation by approved. The Trustees then moved to the organization of the Board. By ballot, Miss Stanton was again chosen as Secretary, and Miss Loring unanimously elected Chairman of the Board Voted to adjourn. Adjourned. Marjorie H. Stanton, Secretary
