Public Meeting Minutes
Place: Beverly Council on Aging, Arts & Crafts Room
Board members present: William Alpine Jr. ESQ, and Susan Higgins PE
Board Members Absent: Frank S. Carbone Jr. MD
Others present: William Burke, Director of Public Health

William Alpine called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.
The minutes of the November 21 st meeting were approved and accepted as mailed.
On December 10 the second of the two required Community Meetings was held. This is an
emergency group exercise within the community. Teresa Kirsch and Joe Reale attended as
well as good attendance by Police, Fire and Department of Public Services.
The "Emerging Infectious Disease Table Top" exercise is scheduled for January 9 It is
hoped that this exercise will foster continued discussions around emergency preparedness
as a community and bring professionals together for a good response.
Joyce Redford, Program Director NS /CA Tobacco Alcohol Control Program will give us
guidance regarding tobacco flavors that are allowed to be sold in establishments. She will
update us with any changes regarding the new state law.
Beginning after the first of the year several area Health Departments will revisit developing
updated Body Art Regulations. The benefit of a regional regulation is that it provides
consistency from one community to the next and pools talent to provide a comprehensive
regulation.
Mr. Burke had a few updates for the Board.
Mr. Burke announced that future meetings could be held on the third Thursday evening of
the month.
The department is processing the food and various other permit renewals as they come in for
renewal. All permits expire on December 31s
Mr. Alpine motioned to adjourn meeting, Ms. Higgins seconded.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
The next scheduled meeting is January 16, 2020.
