2004-04-01BEVERLY HARBOR MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY April 1, 2004 Beverly Public Libxary PRESENT: J. Frates, C. Raymond, R. Costa, S.M. Seamans, and G. Ward GUESTS: L. Bochynski, T. Rodzen and A. Swift of the Citizen. J. Frates stated that there was a meeting set up with Rick Armstrong of the Seaport Council, but it was cancelled at the last minute. They are trying to re-schedule. Also, we are having difficulty with funds. We will try to discuss the finances with a committee. S.M. Seamans talked to A. Daignault regarding the Shoe Pond. She also called Dr. Lupini. She has not heard back yet. She also called M. Collins, and he said there is no money. She called Mr. McSweeney to ask. Costa had a meeting with the Mayor to ask for the $200,000 mitigation money. L. Bochynski stated that the floats at Glover are 28 or 29 years old. The Commercial are in the worst condition. He also states that a Facilities Committee meeting is badly needed. T. Rodzen spoke of the Canoe/Kayak Program that he would like to start at the Center. The proposal that he brought before the board is based on how Boston does it. C. Raymond suggested that he talk to the Harbormaster of the City Planner. J. Frates stated that the board would take this under advisement. L. Bochynski spoke of an article in the newspaper that there will be a pier at Lynch Park. There should be a lot of questions, such as is it outside the jurisdiction of Chapter 91. Does the BHMA need to get involved? R. Costa says that they will duplicate what was there 100 years ago. R.
