2003-06-05 BEVERLY HARBOR MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY June 5, 2003 Beverly Public Library PRESENT: M. Trouhetaris, IL Badessa, S.M. Seamans, D. Neuman, T. Bimer, G. Ward, And C. Raymond GUESTS: L. Bochynski J. Frates opened the meeting and stated that the July meeting falls on the night before the 4th. He asked all to think about whether we should cancel. There is a Facilities Committee meeting scheduled for June 12th at 7:30 p.m. at the Library, on the 4th floor. M. Troubetaris made a motion to accept the Minutes of the previous meeting. R. Badessa seconded, and all approved. In last month's Minutes is speaks of a higher fee. This is to mean the sheet fees. G. Ward and D. Neuman may follow up with the City Solicitor. Committees: J. Frates and D. Neuman met with the Finance & Property Committee regarding the $190,000.00. The supplemental appropriation went back to the Mayor. T. Durkin wants to use the WIF for fire and police. If we use the regular account there will be no money for improvements. If the proposals are accepted the bidder will repair floats. The Budget was discussed. T. Cassidy's letter to the Council says if the McDonald's building is torn down you can't use it as a restaurant. D. Neuman says that the State says whether you tear it down or not you can't use it. G. Ward stated he talked to Real Estate D. Corbett, and the deal on Ventron may fall through. Also someone else is in the wings for a Marina. D. Neuman spoke of the status of the proposals. The committee did its thing. It is now in the hands of City Hall. It was left to the Mayor to negotiate. The Mayor says it is not on his plate with the Budget crisis. Nothing has been done yet. June 11, Wednesday, there is a meeting of the new Zoning Committee. D. Neuman says the Harbor Plan has not been finished yet. S. M. Seamans has agreed to work on the Bridge Mitigation. Cummings Walkway- The City has not done their rough grade yet. M. Troubetaris will call D. Hurlburt, F. Killilea, and M. Collins. The Mural in the McDonald's building. Nothing done yet. There will be a workshop at the Senior Center on 6/21 ~om 9:00 a. nx to noon for all Committees. M. Troubetaris made a motion to cancel the July meeting. All in favor. G. Ward asked about the third set of slips that were here prior to the bridge being built. L. Bochynski stated that during construction there is now no water. D. Neuman stated that the money is there to do dredging in the Bass River. He will call back next week. They should be ready to award in July for the borings. G. Ward suggested an Ad Hoc Committee, possibly Desmond, Bass Haven, and the Electric Company. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Eileen Twiss
