2001-02-01BEVERLY HARBOR MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY MINUTES February 1, 2001 Beverly Public Library PRESENT: J. Frates. M. Troubetaris, J. Bolden, P. Allen, D. Neuman, R. Gallagher, C. Raymond, A. Wheelock GUESTS: L. Bochynski, F. Thompson of Salem Water Taxi, M. O'Brien of the Chamber of Commerce, and M. Murphy J. Frates opened the meeting and asked for Public Input. F. Thompson of Salem Water Taxi stated that he would like to bring to Beverly the Water Taxi as he has been operating in Salem, and possibly use the McDonald's Building as a base of operation. J. Frates asked him to put it in writing and submit to the board. He stated that he would like to do it this year. D. Neuman asked him about short-term lease? He stated possibly. M. Troubetaris stated that she thought that the proposal should go to the City Council also. Mr. Thompson was asked what the name of his business was, and he stated "Barnegat Marine". L. Bochynski asked many questions pertaining to what his needs would he. A Motion to accept the Minutes of the previousmeeting was made by P. Allen. It was seconded by A. Wheelock, and all approved. The letter to the Port Marina Lawyer has not been sent yet. P. Allen suggested that someone write the letter for M. Handly and if he won't send, we will send. As far as the Marciano property, D. Neuman felt that the State is not interested in giving relief. Now there is a 20-day comrnent period. D. Neuman made a motion to send a letter to reconfirm our position. If there is an economic hardship it can he postponed if it will he done to ensure completion in the future. P. Allen seconded the Motion and all approved. Cummings - There will he a meeting Wednesday, Feb. 14th @ 10:30 re: walkway. License has been granted, but Cummings is not in compliance. The walkway should he along the water. Parking is along the water. Regarding an increase in fees for Lobster boats - next month's meeting. New Business- C. Raymond asked if there is a waiting list. He was told "Yes" He asked if there are any openings. He was told "No". L. Bochynski stated that it can't carry 100% in the winter. When Mr. Thompson brings his proposal in to the office, it will be mailed out to all members immediately, in case they want to call a special meeting. P. Allen made a motion to adjourn.
