Frates stated that if each school selected their winner, And sent the name to the BHMA, then we could ask the newspaper to print a ballot and have the public vote on the winner. J. Frates spoke to St. John's about, this contest. He stated that there would be a prize for the winning student, and each school, and a grand prize. Maureen Troubetaris made a motion to have this for grades 3 - 5. P. Allen seconded. L. Bochyski made a report on the electrical work. He stated that the electrical work on the commercial area is complete. Then they will do glover. Received Power Power posts,and they are expected to coat between 11 And 12 thousand dollars. At last meeting we had spent $49,000.since tjhis meeting we have spent another $15,000. J. Frates stated that we would ask to have money shifted from another line item. J. Murray stated that we have to do a better job of anticipating expenses. j. frates stated that cummings asked about a photo-op on the access path. D. Neuman would feel more comfortable if Cummings agreed to the location of the path before any photo-op. Maybe it could be done simultaneously. J. Frates on the Beverly Master Plan Review - The big point is parking. Someone said garage. All though that this idea was crazy. J. Frates on possible use of McDonald's -if left vacant much longer it will be falling apart. What could it be used for? D. Neuman stated that it needs to be water related. j. frates thought that a meeting room could be fixed up, for our meetings and possible washington's naval base and possibly change the glover to a yacht club and they could use the room . d. neuman stated that this use would need to be investigated. j. murray asked if another bill proposal would be the way to go. d. neuman stated that he has talked to the seaport council. they are very enthusiastic about our plans from they report. there is another angency that is very enthusiastic. d. neuman is trying to get hard data from the federal channel. there are many numbers around. he spoke to the mayor and he is trying to investigate. there is a small cruise ship coming to salem. the ship is 200' long and 45' wide with a 10' draft. he has asked the person at usace. c. boutiller will be the person to do the study. j. bolden made a motion to invite j. simpson to our next meeting to explain his study of the federal channel. a. burns seconded. r. gallagher will contact j. simpson. minutes of the previous meeting. p. allen asked if the word "blown budget" ON PAGE 2 could be replaced by "exceeded budget". all approved as amended. j. murray made a motion to adjourn. respectfully submitted, eileen twiss
