The applicant states he does not want a sign accessible to neighborhood children because he
fears it may be spray painted.
Moutsoulas states he originally wanted to put a sign in a different location but the sign company
told him the board would not permit it because the building is not on a comer lot. Moutsoulas
states he does not agree. Hurlburt states she believes the building inspector may allow another
sign fithere is a commercial parking lot on the property. Hurlburt recommends the applicant
speak with Building Inspector, Tim Brennan about the number of signs he would allow.
Hurlburt states she would not be in favor of a roof sign because it would not be aesthetically
pleasing to the building, however she would not be opposed to appmving a perpendicular sign
and wall sign (at specific locations indicated on plan) as long as they are under code and the
building inspector has reviewed thenk
Haring recommends a wall sign on the firout peak overthe door and a wall sign around the comer
facing the parking lot. Hurlbutt and Palardy agree the sign over the door would look nice and
attract patmn's attention to the door.
Moutsoulas states he would like to speak with his landlord about some of the scenarios discussed
for the location of the signs.
O'Brien makes a motion to approve the two options for one wall sign, seconded by Haring. All
in favor, motion carries.
Hurlburt informs Moutsoulas that if he gets approval firom the building inspector for a second

states he was hoping there was some type of ordinance restricting the amount of signs and agrees
that it is quite an eyesore. Hating states that not more than 30% of the window area should be
covered with signs. Jenks states he would be more than happy to enforce the ordinanoe.

Hating asks the applicant if it is possible to add dormers to the ~'ont of the building. Hurlburt
states she would also like to see dormers. Jenks states he would like to make the building
aesthetically pleasing but he recently found out he had to take the mof off which raised the cost
of the project by $50,000. Jenks states he would like to make revisions to the building as
cheaply as possible.
O'Brien states she thinks the applicant just needs to do some free tuning.
Hurlburt asks the applicant if he would like to go over the board's recommendations pertaining
