1999-06-01Beverly Cultural Council Tuesday, June 1, 1999 Beverly Public Library Present: Tony Toledo, Susan Quateman, Susan Oleksiw, Kristen Fenn The meeting was held at the Beverly Public Library to discuss the financial incentive grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and ways of raising funds.Tony suggested a book sale and storytelling eveng at the Unitarian Universalist Church on June 17, 1999, for an hour in the evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission would be $3. The matching funds from the MCC are a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $15,000. A local cultural council cannot receive more in matching funds than the state (MCC) allotment to the council. Other ideas discussed: asking Cummings Center to support programs for the McKeown School, inviting David Goss to serve on the BCC or to consider proposing a grant to develop a brochure for a walking tour or a neighborhood historical map.
