The report was accepted by the committee, Bob with motion, Joan with second.) COMMITTEE REPORTS: None given. LEGISLATIVE REPORT: Leslie stated that the news was not good. State government has slashed more grants, and that we have been taken three hits. One example is that the amount given for each elder has been cut from $5.00 to $4.93 and that may not be the final figure. OLD BUSINESS: In regards to the seat on BCOA assigned to Housing Authority, it has been found that the state does not require it, but the city needs to change the law. It is presently stuck in committee. Tom is looking into its status in the City Council, and will send a letter if necessary to Paul Guanci to speed up action on it. Joan presented the committee with information from a new company that makes bricks for a fundraiser. After some discussion it was decided to hold it in committee for another month. The meeting was adjoined at 3:50 p.m. NEXT MEETING: October 1, 2002, 2:30 p.m. at the Senior Center.
