Susan called the meeting to order at 2:38 p.m.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
The minutes from the June 5, 2001 meeting were approved (Bob with motion, Margaret
with second)
DIRECTOR’S REPORT:
Leslee reported on building usage and provided an updated financial statement. Leslee
provided a statistical report through May 31, 2001.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Friends: The Friends met on June 19. The group discussed several fundraising ideas.
The group will not meet again until September.
LEGISLATIVE REPORT:
Leslee reported that she is currently working on the project for the Fall.
OLD BUSINESS:
Tax Abatement: in process, no new information.
Reappointment status of J. Dettorre: in process.
Budget: The budget was approved. Leslee distributed a copy of the final budget.
NEW BUSINESS:
Senior Citizen of the Year: The group discussed and voted on the 2001 Senior Citizen of

the Year. The award will be presented on August 2 at Senior Day in the Park.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Joan asked if the Council had its own web site. Leslee explained that the link to the
council was with the City’s web site. Joan stated that NII hosts a web site for free just for
the Recreation Department and that we may want to get our own.
