Susan called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. A moment of silence was observed for
the victims of the September 11, 2001 incident.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
The minutes from the September 4, 2001 meeting were approved (Margaret with motion,
Joe with second)
DIRECTOR’S REPORT:
Leslee reported on building usage and provided an updated financial statement. Leslee
provided a statistical report through September 17, 2001. A new Activities Coordinator

has been hired and will begin on October 17.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Friends met on September 18. The main topic of
discussion was the parking lot.
LEGISLATIVE REPORT:
Leslee distributed a legislative packet and discussed its contents. She discussed how
the Board could play a role in legislative advocacy. Attachment I was omitted from the
packet and will be included in the next Board packet.
OLD BUSINESS:
Tax Abatement: in process, the Massachusetts Municipal Association is compiling
information from communities with programs.
Reappointment status of J. Dettorre: in process.
NEW BUSINESS:
Fee Waiver Request: Leslee presented a request for rental fee waiver from the League
of Women Voters. Decision: charge custodial fee, relate that the event must end
promptly at 10:00 p.m. and the building cleared no later than 10:30 p.m.
December Board Meeting: Susan suggested that the meeting be held at Bella Venezia
restaurant at 4:30 p.m. Cynthia will call and see if this is feasible.
Special Board Meeting: Susan indicated that she might call a special meeting to discuss
the Board’s role and purpose.
