MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 12, 2004
PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Lydon, Mahoney, Simpson, Trask, and White
ABSENT: Commissioners Duval and Nelson

A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Presentations:
·
Edwards and Kelcey Update – Dave Graham and Craig Schuster
updated the Commission on the latest FAA, MAC and local grant
shares, grant projects, and the tree obstructions at the end of
Runway 27. Further discussion at a meeting with E&K scheduled
on January 20, 2004 at 1:00PM.

Wayside Trucking – No Presentation
·
Hangar Development (Aviators’ Investment Service and
Aerobatic Flight Instruction) – No Presentation
2. Reading of the Minutes for December 2003 – Chairman White called for a
reading of the minutes from the December meeting. Commissioner Lydon
made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner
Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White gave the financial report
for December 2003. Commissioner Trask made a motion to accept the
financial report subject to audit, seconded by Vice Chairman Barnico.
Motion passed unanimously.
B. OLD BUSINESS
Subcommittee Reports:

Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Commissioner Mahoney reported
on the Blimp Hangar Subcommittee meeting. (The Subcommittee found
the proposed blimp hangar to be impractical for BVY.)

The Subcommittee also recommended BAC approval of Aviators of New
England’s proposed lease. Vice Chairman Barnico made a motion to accept
the lease as corrected and to send it to the City of Beverly legal department
for review and on to City Council, seconded by Commissioner Lydon.
Motion passed unanimously.

Public Relations Subcommittee – Commissioner Simpson reported that
Gary Kerr still maintains the airport website and to give any changes or
other airport website-related information to Commissioner Simpson and/or
the Airport Manager.
C. NEW BUSINESS
None
D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT
·
Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the Commission on the traffic count,
AIP legislation, Gurnard site, snow removal, hangar development interest,
FY04 crack fill project, airport maintenance activities, and rent arrears.
E. CHAIRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS
None
F. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Vice Chairman Barnico, seconded by Commissioner
Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously.
