Dear Honorable City Council:
I am pleased to inform you that the City of Beverly has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the
Ward 2 Civic Association. The Ward 2 Civic Association received a $1,500 grant from the Find
Your Fire Community Grants Contest specifically for the GAR Hall project.
With your approval, this grant will be used for the restoration of the GAR Hall. Massachusetts
General Law Chapter 44 Section 53Arequires both council and mayoral approval before any
grant or gifts to the city can be expended for their prescribed purpose. I therefore request the
council approve this grant by taking action on this matter at your upcoming meeting of the City
Council on June 25, 2018. Thank you.
