SEPTEMBER 21, 2017
MEETING HELD AT CITY HALL, 191 CABOT STREET, 3 RD FLOOR, BEVERLY, MA
Meeting was called to order by David Perinchief at S:OOpm.

Old business:
David Perinchief stated that things are moving forward with Tin Man clean out. Volunteers are needed,
the ROTC is interested in helping, and David will contact Home Depot to see if they have any volunteers.
David contacted Got Junk but hasn't heard back yet and he will follow -up with them. BevCam will be
involved as a local access piece.
Discussion on 2019 centennial celebration for the American Legion. Ron Genest said that it is still in the
planning stages and he is working on getting a committee formed.
Veterans Day was mentioned and the budget will remain the same as last year ($500.00). David
Perinchief will try to get it increased to $1,000.00 next year. Jerry Guilebbe suggested that each post
should contribute $100.00. Susan Moran will send a formal letter to each post requesting a donation.
New business:
David Perinchief informed the committee that Lt. David Richardson resigned because of the way
information was being communicated. It was mentioned the Det. Darlene Prinz has not responded to
any communications and has not attended any meetings. It was mentioned that Timothy Smith has
missed four meetings.
David Perinchief said that "Garrett" is working on the website but it crashed and he is working on getting
it back up and running.
Susan Moran and Jerry Guilebbe have access to the Veterans Facebook page.
David Perinchief suggested having a daily veteran breakfast with food supplied by local businesses to
help get younger veterans to join the posts. It was suggested that Kristina Babcock would be a good
resource. Discussion will continue at the next meeting.
David Perinchief mentioned that he was approached by a younger veteran and asked for there to be
more events for veterans and their families. Discussion that events could be held at Spear Post and

bouncy houses could be placed in the parking lot and have cotton candy. This is something to think
about for 2018 and will be discussed at the next meeting.
Discussion about having a Christmas event at Ellis Square the day of the Holiday parade. Jerry Guilebbe
suggested trying to get story teller, Tony Toledo. Children could make holiday cards for troops. David
Perinchief will talk to Mayor Cahill about the event. David Perinchief will talk to new head of the parade
committee.
David Perinchief suggested that the committee should make plans now to be involved with the
downtown Block Party next year.
Committee reports:
None to report, committee's need to be formed.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:OOpm.
Next meeting will be held on October 19` 2017.
