The Committee on Legal Affairs, to whom was referred the matter of Communication — Mayor re:
Amended Ordinance — Consignment Shop Sunday Openings, have considered said matter and beg
leave to report as follows:
Submit the accompanying amended Ordinance and recommend its adoption pending Publication
and Final Passage:
An Ordinance amending an Ordinance relative to Section 192 -21 "Hours of Operation"
By DELETING the phrase, "9:00 p.m. to sunrise of the following morning" and
By REPLACING it with the phrase 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the following morning" and
By DELETING the sentence: "No trading shall be done on Sundays."

The Section, as Amended, will read:
Hours of operation
The shops referred to in this article shall be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the following
morning, and no keeper of such shop shall purchase or sell any of the items mentioned in this
article during such hours.

Recycles (formerly Solid Waste Management Committee) — Toni Musante, 12 Willow Street and
Rebecca Dupont Coutre, 34 Bertram Street, have considered said matter and beg leave to report as
follows:
Recommend the Council approve the Reappointments.

Unfinished Business:
1. #076 — Reappointment — Chief of Police — John G. LeLacheur
The Council President recognized Councilor Houseman who thanked Councilors for support of his
Hold on the Order at last week's Regular Council Meeting, which allowed him to review the Contract.
The Council President then asked for a Motion allowing him to vacate the Chair in order that he
might make a statement. Approved: 8 -0. Vice President Houseman assumed the Chair as Acting
President, and recognized Councilor Guanci for a statement, which he read in favor of the
Reappointment. Councilor Martin also spoke in favor of the Reappointment. There being no other
Councilors who wished to make statements, the Clerk read the Order and the Acting President called
for a vote:
Order read once and adopted. Vote: 9 -0.
