Kelley, Esq., Chairman George Heller John Roccio LICENSE BOARD MINUTES — January 6, 2011 The meeting of the Beverly License Board was called to order on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Council Chambers at 6:30 pm. In attendance at the meeting were: Board Members George Heller, John Roccio and Clerk, Martha Lewis. Also in attendance: Sgt. William Page and Lt. Michael Devlin of the Beverly Police Department. Absent: Chairman Richard Kelley, Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by George Heller New Applications: 1. Sunoco APlus — Change of Manager to Biagio Guarino Application for a Change of Manager reviewed by Board. Mr. Guarino has been working for Sunoco A Plus as the Assistant Manager. Mr. Heller asked if he had formal training i.e. and if the applicant TIPS certified. Mr. Guarino stated the company provides corporate training including videos and all employees are trained. Mr. Roccio asked what the store accepted as identification. It was stated that they accepted Massachusetts Driver's License, Mass. I.Ds., passports. The store does not accept out -of -state identification. Lt. Devlin commented that the store does a thorough and excellent job of checking identifications. Mr. Guarino's CORI report was received and no issues reported. Mr. Roccio made a motion to approve the Change of Manager application from Sunoco APlus naming Biagio Guarino as Manager. The motion was seconded by Mr. Heller. A vote was taken and the motion was passed 2- 0. 2. Boardroom Cafe — Common Victualler's License Applicant, Stephanie Mahoney was present as the owner of the Boardroom Cafe'. The caf6 is located at 100 Cummings Center in the space formerly occupied by the Daily Bagel. The caf6 will be open Monday — Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The applicant has filed the necessary building permit with the City and is in the process of having the work completed and final inspections from the Health Dept. and the Fire Dept. Mr. Roccio made a motion to approve the Common Victualler's application for the Boardroom Caf6 pending the receipt of all necessary inspections. The motion was seconded by Mr. Heller. A vote was taken and the application was approved 2 — 0. 3. Sonny's Mobile — Change of Manager Michael Fazio owner of Sonny's Mobile is the applicant for Manager. Mr. Fazio stated that he was the owner and would be on site for approximately 20 hours per week. Mr. John Alexander will be on -site at other times. He is TIPS certified and has been employed at the location for 10 years. Mr. Roccio emphasized that Mr. Fazio should be TIPS certified. The CORI on Mr. Fazio was received and there were no issues. Mr. Roccio then made a motion to approve the application. Mr. Heller seconded the motion. The motion was approved 2 — 0. One- Day Special Licenses Applications were received and reviewed for Shore Country Day School, Endicott College, the Hastings House, Beverly Bootstraps, Beverly Farms 4 th of July Committee. All applications were complete and all events were scheduled for no more than 4 hours. Mr. Roccio made a motion to approve the applications. Mr. Heller seconded the motion. The applications were approved 2 — 0. Other Business: Mr. Jason Rodericks was in attendance to observe the meeting. Mr. Rodericks introduced himself and stated that he was interested in obtaining a wine and beer license in the City. He has a location identified with a lease contingent on obtaining said license. Mr. Rodericks was told that there were no wine and beer licenses available at this time. He stated that he would continue to check with the Clerk until such time one was available.
