The past few Capital Expenditure Plans that have been submitted outlined a number of water
related projects that the city hopes to undertake in the near future to increase our ability to
provide the highest level of service possible to our citizens. One of the projects we wish to
undertake this construction season is the water main on Haskell Street. The proposed project
would replace the current six -inch water main with a more suitable 12 -inch main. This will provide
the area with better water and sufficient quantity in case of a major emergency. The estimated
cost ofthis project is $700,000. 1 respectfully request, an appropriation and loan order to perform
this work in the coming construction season. This appropriation request for $700,000 will be
raised with an authorization to borrow and all related costs will be paid from the Water Enterprise
Fund.
Please initiate action on this matter at your next City Council meeting, May 4th, 2015. This
appropriation and loan order will require a public hearing be set prior to a Council vote. Thank
you.
Sincerely yours,
Michael P Cahill
