FIRST PUBLIC HEARING: CITY OF BEVERLY HARBOR AUTHORITY
REPRESENTING: JIM SIMPSON
PROJECT: TO DRIVE II PILES ADJACENT TO AN EXISTING PIER,
CONSTRUCTION OF A fENDER SYSTEM WITH TWO DOLPHINS TO PROTECT SAID
PIER, AND TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL DOCKING FACILITIES FOR THE PUBLIC
AND THE DISPLACED FISHING VESSELS. DUE TO THE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.

ARE LEFT IN.

BILL LISS MOTIONED THAT THE INFORMATION IS SUFFICIENT ~ND GLENN
TERRY SECONDED THE MOTION.

REPRESENTING: JIM SCANLON, HANCOCK SURVEY, DANVERS, MA.
SITE IS ON CITY WATER, APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM-BOARD OF HEALTH.
JIM SCANLON DISPLAYED A PLAN SHOWING THE PROPOSED SINGLE FAMILY
DWELLING. THE WETLANDS ARE FLAGGED. WORK IS PROPOSED IN THE
WETLANDS, A PORTION OF THE DWELLING REQUIRES MINOR REGRADING.
CLAYTON SMALL - ASKED ARE THERE PLANS TO REMOVE ANY VEGETATION?
SCANLON - NO THERE ARE NO PLANS TO DO THAT.
GLENN TERRY - QUESTIONED THE POND AND THE SIZE OF THE LOT.
SCANLON - SIZE IS 4.9 ACRES. THERE IS NO POND THERE NOW.
CLAYTON SMALL - VIEWED THE SITE, IT LOOKS WET. HE REQUESTED THAT
THE HAYBALES BE EXTENDED AS TO ENCOMPASS THE REGRADING AREA, IF
NECESSARY. ALSO, TO PUT THIS ON THE PLAN AND FLAG #1-TO CONTINUE
iT TO THE PROPERTY BOUNDARY.

PETER OGREN o THERE WILL BE NO OPEN STORAGE OF ANY KIND. THERE
WILL BE A CONTAINMENT AREA STORED WITHIN A CONCRETE VAULT.
CHAIRM~ - QUESTIONED CONCRETE BEING POROUS?
PETER OGREN - MOSTLY ACID WOULD AFFECT CONCRETE.
BILL LISS - IT COULD LEAK.
PETER OGREN - FIRE IS THE MAIN CONCERN. THERE WILL BE INSTALLED
A 10-12" WATER LINE/SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
CHAIRMAN - ASKED IS THERE ANY GAS ON THE STREET?
PETER OGREN - YES, THERE IS GAS. IT WILL BE USED FOR HEATING.
THERE IS NO B~RIED TANK, BUT UNSURE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS ON SITE.
BILL LISS - IS THERE A~NYTHING FORMAL FROM TOM KNOWLTON?
CHAIRMAN - NO, HAS TALKED WITH TOM KNOWLTON.
CLAYTON SMALL - WHY IS THIS BEFORE US?
PETER OGREN - AS A COURTESY, MAINLY.
WITH ALL THE INFORMATION BEING SUFFICIENT, BILL LISS MOTIONED THIS
DETERMINATION TO BE NEGATIVE, STATING IT DOES NOT COME UNDER OUR
JURISDICTION, GLENN TERRY SECONDED THE MOTION.

AFTER SOME DISCUSSION, BILL LISS MOTIONED IN SUPPORT OF THE IDEA
FOR PROVIDING SIGNS FOR CONSERVATION LAND TO BE MARKED, GLENN
TERRY SECONDED THE MOTION.

TO GIVE A PARCEL TO THE CONSERVATION COMMISSION.
MAINTENANCE CONCERNS BY THE MEMBERS.
BILL LISS - QUESTIONED: SIZE ALSO THE WILDLIFE CAPABILITIES.
JACK KELLEHER - SIZE IS APPROXIMATELY 1-1/2 ACRES.
GLENN TERRY - QUESTIONED AS TO WHETHER ALL THE ABUTTORS F~VE BEEN
INFORMED?
KELLEHER - YES, DIRECT ABUTTORS.
THE COMMISSION AT THIS TIME DOES NOT SEEM INTERESTED IN ACQUIRING
THE PARCEL.
