Meeting called to order at 7pm.
Minutes for August
There was no quorum for August therefore there were no minutes taken.
Minutes for September
Mr. Lawler motioned to accept the minutes for September, seconded by Mr. Barger.
Motion carried 5 -0.
The Carter Report (By Mr. Dionne)
Mr. Dionne presented the "Rounds Report" for Mr. Carter this evening. He indicated that
September was a good month; September surpassed last year by 500 rounds. New
memberships up by eighteen. There are 3 to 4 members back from last years injury list.
He also stated that the engineering dept. is still looking at the wedding cake hole.
The McHugh Report
Mr. McHugh reported that they have cleaned out the 5 th tee which has been a bit messy;
added additional drainage. They also made additional mounds from fill from DPW.
They installed about 400' additional drainage between 5 & 6; they are going from wet
spot to wet spot and working their way over to 4. They are pulling irrigation into mounds
on 14; and thatching fairways now then covering greens. They will cover practice greens
this winter.
Maintenance Building
They are currently running electrical in the new Maintenance Building and deciding on
lighting.
Capital Improvement Report
Mr. Dunn reported that the bids for the lift project were submitted to the Central Registry
in Boston. The pre -bid conference is scheduled for October 11. The general bids are due
at the end of the month; the contract award is expected to happen in mid November,
which will bring us into the construction period. He hopes to minimize construction and
disruption during the holidays; and then "full bore" afterwards. The "lift" estimate is
$300,000, then moving onto entrances and egresses then onto inside doors, fixtures and
plumbing.
Proshop
Mr. Dionne stated there was nothing to report.
Tennis Report
Tennis has been spuratic; they are rolling up the privacy nets; wrapping it up for the
season.
The Page Report
Mr. Page distributed his spreadsheet on the functions for September. He indicated that
the Grill Room income is down; weather related. He also indicated that the league
business is down but was up from last year. He is having good luck with wedding
bookings. He is still concerned about the handicap walkway and the lift construction that
will soon take place.
