Minutes of March
The Minutes taken in September will be reviewed at the November meeting.
The Pate Report
Mr. Page indicated that the Tekmar has been installed and the two boilers
should run more efficient this winter saving a significant amount of money
in heating costs.
He also indicated he is still assessing the air conditioning; replacing or
repairing; which ever will be more cost effective.
Mr. Page stated that their profits are slightly down. They are still booking
Xmas parties and weddings but have had two cancellations due to lack of
handicap access. He also indicated that the dumbwaiter is continuing to
break down.
Mr. Ascolillo indicated that Haley Elevator might be able to service the
dumbwaiter; the city has used them in some of their buildings.
The Carter Report
Mr. Carter indicated that the rounds for September were down 10 %; the
result of excessive rain falls. Overall, current members are still paying for
next year; and he has obtained 7 new members. He also stated the Mr. Dion
is running a lot of member events on weekends. They still accommodate the
local school golf leagues; Salem State, St. Johns, Endicott, Swampscott, and
Beverly.
Mr. Carter also stated there were golf carts stolen and found at Obear Park;
the ignitions were damaged. There was a cost of $300 to get them out of
impound.
Mr. Carter also indicated that there are birds living in the down draft pipe on
the peek of the roof, interfering with the boiler efficiency. He stated that a
chimney service needs to come in and sweep the pipe and cap it off to
prevent future issues.
The Murphy Report
Mr. Murphy stated that Mr. Gellineau, Mr. Collins & Mr. Dunn are going
over the specifics of the new maintenance building; they are currently setting
up parameters for the dig and moving forward.
The neighbors near hole #15 complained of flooding during the excessive
rainfall. Mr. Murphy indicated that there is only 12" pipe in that area. He
reviewed the drainage work and it didn't allow for flooding indicating he
may need to do more work on it.
Mr. Murphy stated he is nearing completion of Holes #16 & #17; hope to
have it done by the second week of November.
Maintenance Building Scheduling
Project is ready to start in two week; waiting for site plans. Roof/color /pitch
have been discussed. Mr. Collins and Eric from engineering will oversee the
project. They have not heard any controversy from the neighbors.
The Tennis Report
Mr. Carter indicated that the lines have been pulled up and they are
buttoning things up for the season.
The McHugh Report
Mr. McHugh indicated that things are good on the course.
Mr. Lawler will give updates on the course bathrooms at the November
meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm.
