2011-01-11Beverly Golf & Tennis Commission 01/11/11 Meeting Minutes Commissioners in Attendance: Mr. Lowd Mr. Barger Mr. Crandall Mr. Lambert Mr. Richardson GFMI Mr. Carter Mr. Dion Mr. Page Guests Mr. Dunn Mr. Lowd called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm Minutes of December Mr. Crandall motioned to approve the minutes of December, seconded by Mr. Barger. Motion carried 4 -0. Finance Report Mr. Lawler will review the Finance Report at the February Meeting. Capital Improvement Revenue Review Mr. Dunn presented a spread sheet of Capital Improvements Projected Budgets. He also reviewed the Maintenance Building, Course Improvements and Club House /Pro -Shop Improvements with the Commission and the projected current and future expenses. He also noted certain areas that were under /over estimated in the past. Mr. Dunn also stated that the roof and dormer bids will go out in 4 to 6 weeks. He is still waiting to hear from Mass. Historical on the grant. Mr. Crandall would like to see the bids for the Maintenance building to go out asap as to not to interfere with the tennis opening in May. Mr. Carter indicated that they got all three buildings wired up with a key pad. They are hard wired to alarm company because of the building being used for cold storage. Mr. Barger motioned for wiring alarm system not to exceed $2000 for 3 locations; seconded by Mr. Crandall. Motion carried 4 -0. The Carter Report Mr. Carter distributed his YTD spreadsheet indicating the course accommodated 30,000 rounds of golf for 2010. He stated that his goal for 2011 is 40,000. The members are in good spirits and their deposits of $500 are arriving. They are currently booking outings, leagues and Tee Times. The final payment for members will be March 15. Mr. Carter also stated that Mr. Page put on a spread for about 100 people and the comradery was fantastic. He is also hoping to see an increase in outings. Mr. Crandall suggested for the schools in the area, that golf at BG &T should be given an incentive to have their banquets at the club also. The Burt Page Report Mr. Carter presented the Burt Page spreadsheet for review. He did indicate that the restaurant would be closed on Monday and Tuesday. They are currently doing bereavement gatherings. Also, Mr. Carter stated that the cart paths are basically done; just need some curbing and seed. Mr. Barger motioned to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Crandall. Motion carried 4 -0.
