Joanne Panunzio presided.
Mary Behrle made the motion, seconded by John Kelley, to accept the minutes of January 26,
2010 as read. Motion passed.
Public Presentation
None
Committee Reports
Personnel: John Kelley reviewed the current status of the contract negotiations for the director
and assistant director. Two issues still remain: 1. Should the contract be between the board and
the director or between the board, the director, and the city? 2. Should it be a one year or three
year contract? John Kelley reported on the meeting he attended with Joanne Panunzio and the
City Solicitor, Roy Gelineau. After John Kelley's report, the trustees discussed their concerns
and questions regarding the contract. Alyse Gause asked that Brian Donoghue's interpretation of
the MGL Chapter 78 Section 34 be clarified. Patricia Cirone will request a meeting with the
Mayor.

Long Range Planning: No report.
Election of Officers
Joanne Panunzio made the motion, seconded by Anthony Kline, to nominate Kevin O'Reilly as
Chair. There were no other nominations. Motion passed.
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Mary Behrle, to nominate John Kelley as Secretary.
There were no other nominations. Motion passed.
Report of the Library Director
1) Budget: Patricia Cirone reported that FY2010 budget is on track. 2) Bookmobile: Patricia
Cirone met with bookmobile manufacturer and is now waiting for formal proposal. 3) Paid
Printing: Patricia Cirone is waiting for price quotes for coin/bill acceptor and card acceptor. 4)
Police: Patricia Cirone and Anna Langstaff met with Chief Ray to try to get the walk-throughs
back on track. Also met with school liaison officer to try to identify problem middle school
students. Patricia Cirone gave police a list of Beverly patrons who owe more than $150.00 worth
of materials. The police will send these patrons a certified letter. 5) FY20 11: There is no word
yet on the FY2011 budget. 6) Beverly's Hot 100: The library is starting an automatic reserve
program. 7) Overdrive: Beverly Public Library has the highest circulation of all NOBLE libraries
for Overdrive e-audio books. NOBLE will be adding an e-book collection. 8) Legislative
Breakfast: Friday, February 26 at 8AM in Middleton. 9) Rotary Event: March 13. Proceeds will
go to the bookmobile fundraising campaign. 10) Beverly Reads Posters: Patricia Cirone thanked
Alyse Gause for the wonderful work she did on the Beverly Reads posters. 11) Beverly Reads:
Anna Langstaff reported on upcoming Beverly Reads events.

Unfinished Business
1) Open trustee positions: Patricia Cirone will be meeting with Margaret Altman. Library
trustees and Patricia Cirone discussed possible names for the other open position.
New Business

The next regular meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, March 23 at 7:00 P.M. at the Beverly
Public Library.
