Beverly CATV Advisory Commission Meeting

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Daniel Murphy, Eric. Overberg, Al Torsey, George Johnson, Kim Allyn.
PUBLIC:
o Donald Berman, Walter Kosmowski, (BEVCAM).
o A quorum being present and Daniel Murphy opened the meeting at 7:00.
· Communications and correspondence:
-E-mail from Jane Lyman announcing Xfinity
- January 15th Comcast part 2 e-mail from William Hewig re: January 15th phone
conversation with Jane Lyman (Comcast) on 5 various issues was read and discussed.
o Old business:
o The January minutes were amended, voted on, and accepted.
o The January 20th publication of the "CATV AC/FIOS" press release by Paul Leighton in
the Salem News was discussed.
o Donald Berman reported on the status of BevCam's strategic plan. A copy was passed
out and Donald Berman said all was going well.
o New business:
o New CATV AC member Kim Allyn was welcomed.
o Donald Berman proposed Mavis Jawarski and William Coughlin as new CATV AC
members. Walter Kosmowski proposed David Masters.
o Daniel Murphy presented a draft of the survey and asked all members to review and
reply at the next meeting. The survey was read by all and a discussion followed.
o Walter Kosmowski presented the January BevCam report re: staff, production
schedule, project outreach, technical issues and financials.
o George Johnson stated that it's BevCam's responsibility to provide content on channel
22 to protect it.
o Donald Berman reported on a meeting he had with Judy Miller, Paul Cohen, and Joanna
Lloyd RE: Bevcam providing "Tech Support" to assist in teaching BHS students on
production and other media subjects. BevCam will budget for this.

o Questionnaire to Beverly department heads.
o BevCam budget and strategic plan.
o Public hearing
o Public Survey
o BevCam's issues with Comcast
o Meeting and site visits with Russ Fisk
o Channel 22 content issues
The next meeting is Wednesday, March 10 T\ 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at BevCam.
At 9:10 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
