1. Recommendation to City Council - Council Order #207 - Zonin2: Amendments -
"Off-Street Parkin2: Reauirements" and "Parkin2:. Loadin2: Space. and Desi2:n
Specifics"
Thomson states that Charles Harris apologizes for not attending tonight.
Thomson asks Planning Director Tina Cassidy to address Rosemary Maglio's concerns
about the physicality of spaces that go right up to the parking lot line.
Cassidy explains that there is a 12-foot wide public walkway, which leads to the
waterfront and then turns east along the water, over the Kinzie's property, where it is
right up against the boats. She adds that the City has been in court for years and is
willing to negotiate this issue by opening the walkway.
Thomson confirms that this area is not affected by this zoning change and the amendment
does not give any of this space away.
Williams: Motion to recommend to the City Council the approval of the proposed
amendments (Section 29-25.A and 29-25.D) as written, seconded by Flannery. All
members and the Chair vote in favor. The motion passes 6-0.
Commendation for Tina Cassidy and Leah Zambernardi
Williams reads the letter from Attorney Carmen Frattaroli, who worked on the first
OSRD approval in the city. His letter commends Tina Cassidy and Leah Zambernardi for
their professionalism and hard work on this issue.
