Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.
This was an informal meeting because the meeting was not posted 48 hours in advance.
·
There was discussion on amending the by-laws to meet six times per year. There
was also discussion on what months in which to meet.
·
Our guest, Bill Ambrefe, explained about visual signals for traffic lights and the
cost. Signal devices are $1040.00 for each intersection; push button controls are
$200.00; and $1000.00 for installation per intersection. There is a $90.00 rebate
from Mass. Electric for each device. The cost per intersection is $2240.00 minus
the $720.00 for rebate with the final cost being $1520.00 per intersection. His
suggestion is to do the Rantoul Street corridor (School, Federal, and Elliott Streets
with Gloucester Crossing) with the possibility of Bridge Street and Livingston
Avenue. The total cost would be $7600.00. The new owners of the Edwards
School may be asked to cover School Street cost.
·
Report from ADA Coordinator, Art Daignault, on parking lot surveys and
handicap issues with the High School and McKay School.
·
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2004
