2007-06 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING JUNE 11,2007 LOCATION: Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road, Beverly, MA, 01915 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Forgione, Mahoney, Nelson, Vitale, and White ABSENT: Commissioners Duval, Freyer, Lydon, and Tognazzi PUBLIC: Jim Baker, Tony Bettencourt, Steve Castle, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Martin Cutler, Craig Schuster, and Ken Robinson A. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM. 1. Reading of the Minutes for May 2007 - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the minutes from the May meeting. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the amended minutes, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed unanimously. 2. Reading of the Financial Report - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the financial report. Commissioner White presented the financial report for May 2007. Commissioner Barnico made a motion to accept the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale updated the commission with the following: . AOP A Convention is October 4-6, 2007 in Hartford, CT . Status of Aero Manufacturing building extension, Rice Rental, and Ron Vitale site 4. Presentations: . OLD BUSINESS 1. Subcommittee Reports: . Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney updated the commission on a recent meeting with Eastern Development, Inc., disseminating of airport information to corporate abutters, and scheduling PowerPoint presentations with interested companies. PowerPoint presentations are presently scheduled with the Beverly Chamber of Commerce on August 7,2007 at 8:00AM and with the Beverly City Council on the 2nd or 3rd week of September 2007. . Public Relations Subcommittee - Commissioners Nelson and Freyer talked about update to Town ofDanvers on RW 9/27 reconstruction activities and reported that Dan Bennett was the Town ofDanvers' newest selectman. . Facility Maintenance Subcommittee - Commissioner Forgione updated the commission on proposed contaminated fuel containers and the proposed street-naming project. . Hangar Development/Off-Airport Obstructions - Commissioner Dettorre updated the commission on the status of off-airport tree removal. . Environmental Issues & NSCC Aviation Program - Commissioner Barnico reported that the ice rink RFP was extended to June 18, 2007. . Special Projects - Improvements to the AdminlMaint building will start the evening of June 12,2007. C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee collections, noise complaints, Warner Aerocraft and NAA sublease approval, House Bill status, non-aviation use parcel development status, MAC and MA State Aviation Caucus meeting to be held at BVY, Governor of Delaware arrival/departure info, Order of Conditions extension, Airport Safety & Security Coordinator's duties, and airport maintenance. 2 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING JUNE 11,2007 D. NEW BUSINESS None E. COMMISSION COMMENTS . Commissioner Barnico reinforced the need to enforce the BVY Noise Abatement Program, especially with helicopters. F. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Barnico, seconded by Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed unanimously. 3
