BEVERLY AIRPORT COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 9, 2001
PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Duval, Eaton, Farmer, Gourdeau, Mahoney,
Rosen, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioner Nelson
PUBLIC: Ken Lewis, Gerry Nelson, Ken Robinson, Gary Kerr, Dave Graham, Peter
Simpson, Gardner Trask, Richard Mello, and Greg Wyler
A. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Farmer called the meeting to order at 7:30PM.
1. Presentation:
·
Edwards & Kelcey Update – Dave Graham updated the Commission
on the Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) status and reminded the
Commission that the M.A.C. vote on VMP equipment was April 11,
2001.
·
Airport Website – Gary Kerr updated the Commission on the latest
website developments.
2. Reading of the Minutes for March 2001 – Chairman Farmer called for a reading
of the minutes from the March meeting. Commissioner Gourdeau made a motion
to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Eaton. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman Farmer called for a reading of the
financial report. Commissioner White gave the financial report for March 2001.
Commissioner Barnico made a motion to accept the financial report subject to
audit, seconded by Commissioner Gourdeau. Motion passed unanimously.
B. OLD BUSINESS:

Greg Wyler Lease Proposal (Discussed in Executive Session)
C. NEW BUSINESS:
·
Resun Leasing – Airport Manager Mezzetti discussed a proposal by Resun
Leasing to temporarily store approximately fifty modular jail units on
airport property.

Chairman Farmer asked for a motion to bring the proposed use and
proposed agreement to the City Solicitor for his review and comments. So
moved by Commissioner Duval, seconded by Commissioner Eaton. Motion
passed unanimously.
D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the Commission on events since the last
meeting. Update included plow truck appraisals and NEESCOM.
F. CHAIRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS:

Chairman Farmer instructed the Commission to give any website comments
th
to the Airport Manager by April 16.
·
Chairman Farmer informed the Commission that the police pistol range on
Nike road was closed down.
·
Chairman Farmer informed the Commission that G.A.S. would be notified
to move wood and equipment from the back of Hangar 1. The space will
be needed for environmental testing/remediation activities.
·
Chairman Farmer informed the Commission that T. Ford would give us an
estimate for removing the slab in the northernmost building and the need to
formulate a compensation agreement with Tom Ford.
·
Chairman Farmer asked if there were any questions from the public before
the Commission entered Executive Session. Richard Mello said he had a
water problem that he thought the airport might be contributing to.
Commissioner Eaton said he would work with him on a drainage flow
study.
F. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Commission entered into Executive Session to discuss the proposed Greg Wyler
lease.
G. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner
Gourdeau. Motion passed unanimously.
