Implementation Strategy for Carriage House, Part 2
a. Project Goal: To provide the foundation documents to
carry out the rehabilitation of the Evans Carriage House.
Steps designed to meet the goal have included Tappe
Associates’ Master Plan of 2003 and the replacement of the
roof in the fall of 2005. No further work can be done until
a structural and code compliant analysis is completed by
Tappe.
b. Timetable: It is anticipated that the project can be
completed between May 1 and June 30.
c. Management and Staffing Plan: Work will be done by Tappe
under the supervision of the City of Beverly’s Project
Coordinator Peter Seamans, its Building Commission headed
by Ray Bouchard, and The Lynch Park Advisory Committee.
d. Plan for Sustainability of Project: Continued fund
raising by The Lynch Park Advisory Committee is the
linchpin for completion of each phase of the rehabilitation
project.
e. Prior Accomplishments of LPAC: In the four years it has
been in existence, The Lynch Park Advisory Committee has
held numerous public awareness seminars throughout the City
of Beverly and on local cable. Fund raising includes two
productions of an original comedy about President Taft’s
days the park, numerous contributions by the Guild of
Beverly Artists which has met at the barn for more than
forty years, and a new annual summer holiday in Beverly
called David S. Lynch Appreciation Day for the man who gave
the city the money to purchase the park.
