R. Oosthoek thanked D. Neuman for coming to the Waterways Committee meeting
yesterday.
A Motion to accept the Minutes of the previous meeting was made by S.M. Seamans, and
Seconded by D. Neuman. All in favor.
R. Gelineau stated that R. Munroe has worked with D. Smith on the Agreements for the
Commercial and Pleasure boaters. D. Smith is working without fmancial gain.
One major thing in the leases is that the Mayor would sign them. With the new leases it
would require a signature ofa member of the Facilities Committee and the City
Purchasing Director. It will now be called an agreement and not a lease.
S.M. Seamans said thank you to R. Gelineau and D. Smith for their work.
L. Bochynski asked, "When it doesn't happen, who makes it happen?" R. Gelineau will
speak to D. Smith. A threat of legal fees may make it work.
There will be a Facilities Committee meeting on March 17, @ 6:30 p.m. The Facilities
Committee should change 14-day storage to 7 days to be consistent with the Regulations
approved by the Council. They should also check into fueling of vessels.
L. Bochynski asked about a payment schedule and a I-year agreement for the fishermen.
D. Neuman feels that it is an administrative policy to have payments. Facility
Committee will discuss this.
Committee Reports
D. Neuman stated that Vine Associates is signed, and they need a kick-off meeting. This
will be at City Hall on March 14th @ 10:00 a.m. Amy Maxner, from the Planning
Department will be working with us on this. D. Neuman stated that the article in the
newspaper was not good.
D. Neuman had a meeting with R. Armstrong of Seaport Advisory Council, and he
understands that we need serious money next year.
D. Neuman spoke about Cummings Hotel. They have the Chapter 91 form to fill out.
R. Oosterhoek is trying to get an easement for parking under the bridge. He also stated
that the Gas Company may sell the property on River Street, and maybe the Electric
Company also.
D. Neuman stated that T. Keezer has volunteered to fill out the form for the test borings
in the Bass River. He is a very dedicated person.
D. Neuman spoke of Port Marina. The judge fell and was injured. Five days have been
cancelled, so far. Nothing has happened.
All agreed to work on budget.
