I hereby appoint, subject to your review and recommendation, the following citizens to fill the two vacancies on the
Airport Commission. These vacancies were created by your recent ordinance change raising the Commission size
from 9 to 11 members.
In order to hold the number of appointments which expire at the end of any given year to a reasonable level, both these
appointments are made for a period of one year with the expectation that they would be renewed for a three year
period at the end of 2005.

In accordance with the action by the Salem Beverly Water Supply Board to create an Advisory Committee, I hereby
appoint Mr. Anthony Kline, 510 Hale Street to be Beverly’s member of that Board subject to confirmation by the City
Council. Mr. Kline’s term will be effective until January 3, 2007.
Anthony is both an engineer and a lawyer who I am confident will bring a significant contribution to the future planning
and success of the Water Supply Board.

Ordered: That the Beverly City Council and the School Committee, jointly name the concession stand at Hurd Stadium
the Robert McHugh Concession Stand, in tribute to Bob’s recruitment of volunteers to work and also contribute
building supplies and equipment free of charge.
With Bobs leadership, this concession stand with public facilities became a reality.

By Councilor Coughlin:
Ordered: That the School Committee consider declaring the McKay School as Surplus Property in order to begin the
process of the sale of the property allowing proper time allocations to receive maximum value for said sale. Monies
received to be allocated to the cost of restoration/new wing at BHS.
Martin: Amendment to read that the City Council request McKay School be declared surplus property. 5-4 Vote with
Martin, Flaherty, Coughlin, Costa and Guanci voting for the amendment
