The Beverly Salem Water Supply Board has increased its assessment for FY 2001-2002
to the City of Beverly in excess of 2 ½% for reasons that have been outlined to you
earlier. This matter has been dealt with financially in the budget you have been
reviewing, but a single majority vote is needed for the following order.
Ordered: That the request by the Salem Beverly Water Supply Board for
approval of an increase in the Board’s total Fiscal Year 2002 assessment to the City
of Salem and Beverly in the amount of $610,000, which increase is in excess of the
limits provided in M.G.L. c. 59, S 20B (Proposition 2 ½, so-called), is hereby approved,
the share of the increase to be assessed to the City of Salem being $311,000 and the
share of the increase to be assessed to the City of Beverly being $298,900.
