The Committee continues to make progress:
Finalized the Open Space and Recreation Report and submitted it to the DER

Participated (by subcommittee members) in organizing for & promoting Community Preservation

Act.
Conducted a public forum to identify open space priorities.

Conducted a public forum to identify open space priorities.

Conducted public walks and bio-inventory in celebration of Biodiversity Day.

With Council McGlynn, conducted a clean up of Sally Milligan Park.
·
Attended (by regional subcommittee) north shore regional open space meetings.

Assisted in the acquisition of the Crosby property along the Bass River

Drafted a park management plan for Sally Milligan Park
·
The work immediately ahead:
Continuing contact with private open space property owners including institutional landowners

Coordinating with the Master Plan Steering Committee and other boards on the master plan.

Continuing development of specific open space objectives to ensure implementation of the Open

Space plan.
Create a uniform trail signage system and map for public lands and develop a more definitive

trails program for City-owned property
Continue educational outreach efforts such as targeted clean-up days and a “Fall Walk”
