Dear Honorable Council:
As you know, during recent years as the City has tried to get out from under the budget deficit, insurance coverage
has been cut back arbitrarily to a point which has created unacceptable exposure.
Recent discussions have indicated that for a total insurance premium of $45,000 above budget, we can insure our
entire fleet of rolling stock and obtain improved liability insurance on all building while maintaining the fire insurance
we have had on buildings and police liability insurance which we have had.
I request an additional $45,000 be transferred into the "Insurance" account with $15,000 to come from the "City
Solicitor -Litigation" account and $30,000 from account "Reserve for Unforseen Expenditures."
Said sum of money to be expended under the direction of the City Clerk. Attached is a communication from Don Young
concerning this request.
Very truly yours,
William F. ScanIon, Jr., Mayor
