At a meeting of the Selectmen Mar. 221781 they ordered that a Town Meeting should be warned

and held on Monday the 2 day of April next at one o’clock in the afternoon at the stated place for
holding Town Meetings in said Town.
To choose the Governor, Lieut. Governor and persons to be Senators and Councillors agreeable to
the New Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and there was a warrant issued out
Constable Benjamin Obear to warn the same accordingly.

At a meeting of the Selectmen March 22 1781 they ordered that a Town Meeting should be warned

and held on the 2 day of April next at three o’clock in the afternoon at the stated place for holding
of Town meetings in said Town for to act on the following particulars. viz.
1ly. To see what measures the Town will come into for paying the Town’s debts and raise money
for that purpose, if thought proper, and coming into any measures relative to that affair as
they in their wisdom shall think will be most for the benefit of the Town.
2ly. To choose some person to serve Constable in the room of Doc. Israel Woodberry, he refusing
to serve, and to choose any other officers in the room of those that refuse to serve in the

several offices whereunto they were chosen to serve at the annual March meeting on the 12
th
& 15 instant.
3ly. To choose some person or persons as their agent or agents for the current year to prosecute to
final issue in the law in behalf of this Town all such persons as refuse to serve in the several
offices where there is a fine by law annexed to said offices for not serving. Whereunto they

were chosen at the annual Town Meeting on the 12 and 15 days of March instant and shall
be chosen at any future meeting the current year.
4ly. To see if the Town will excuse Francis Smith from serving as Grand Juror for the year and
choose some person to serve in his stead and there was a warrant issued out to Constable
Benjamin Obear to warn the same accordingly.
