At a meeting of the Selectmen Feb. 281777.
th
Ordered that the town meeting should be warned and held on the 10 day of March next at 10
o’clock forenoon at the stated place for holding of Town Meetings in said Town.
1ly. To choose town officers for the year ensuing.
2ly. To choose a Committee of Correspondence, Inspections and Safety for the year ensuing.
3ly. To choose a County Treasurer.
4ly. To see if the Town will mend their Highways the year ensuing by a tax on the polls and estates
of its Inhabitants and determine what sum of money they will grant to be raised on the same for that
purpose.
5ly. To see if the Town will give Liberty for their swine to go at-large being yoked and ringed as the
law directs.
6ly. To see if the Town will continue to give the bounty which they have voted to give the
noncommissioned officers and private soldiers that should enlist into the Continental Army etc. to
some further terms and not anything relative thereto as they in their wisdom shall think prudent.
7ly. To see if the Town will grant the request of William and Israel Green for them either to be
excused from the highway tax or that they might have leave to work out the same on the way
between their dwelling houses and the highway.
And there was a warrant issued out to Constable Livermore Whittridge to warn the same accordingly.
