There being a quorum present, the meeting convened at 7:10
p.m_
· No citizens atrended. No citizen correspo.ndence receive&
· In accordance with city ordinances, an election of officers was
held. Results: Chairman, Daniel C. Murphy; vie2 chairman, AI
Torsey.
· Susan Alvey reported that a questionnaire on the usage of Cable in
the Classroom programming in the public schools had been
distributed to teachers and principals, It is expected that results will
be analyzed and tabulated at the next meeting of the corvmlgsion.
The survey was received enthusiastically by school officials who
promised full cooperation. A 30 percent return is anticipated.
· Lyman reported that a Digital Hub Room has been installed at the
Tozer Road facility of Continental Cab levision. The room is another
step in the overall upgrading of equipment to include fiber optic
technology. Completion of fiber optic technology will expand
channel capacity. At present it was i-eported that existing channel
capacity has reached maximum_ The new technology will allow
more Channels although new set-top selector boxes may be needed.
Lyman reaffirmed the Continental Cablevision customer satisfac-
tions guarentee that went into effect on March 1', 1995. Customers
were notified of the policy with a notice in household bills..
· Stark reported that a full class is anticipated for the next training
cycle( 6 sessions) in television production. Several persons have
been on a waiting list for some time. The class is expected to
April 10, 1995 at the Beverly Public library.
