Chairman MediaOne Amy Siemasko Arthur Crandall Absent: Crandall Robert Lee Thomas O'Connor The meeting of the Cable TV Advisory Commission was convened at 7:15 p.m. Highlights: * Darla Grondin, new program .manager, reported on an extensive MediaOne presence during the Beverly city election. Several 30-minute television segments were devoted to interviews with the mayoral, ward, school commitlee candidates and several candidate fortlms were taped for later broadcast. She praised the diligent work of Jim Maroney and the use of the City Watch program. She said that the television Bulletin Board was used extensively for political advertising. After some inconsistency in the initial stages, the timing of political advertising was timed fairly, she said. BEV-TV carried election results live from City Hall on November 4. The next major event will be televising the 50th annual Santa Claus parade in Beverly. * Amy Siemasko reported she has talked with School Superintendent Lupini about the condition and status of the TV studio at Beverly High School, It is carried on Channel 22 but has been unused for programming for several months. She said the studio at. the high school has been used generally for storage since staff was cut at the high school some rime ago. She said Supt. Lupini will speak with BHS Principal Bill Foye to ascertain status of the studio. She said that becanss of the need for more channel capacity, an unused channel at the high school might be. removed.
