Solar panels on Heather Street Side of Building
National Grid working thru the beginning of October
Construction going on around the building. Don't know when it will end
Solar panels will cover part of electricity costs to city

Senior Care Breakfast for lunch with the Traveling Chef
Denise Doucette Show is funded by a Cultural Council Grant
CSA program going very well. Cost of the program - $10,000 - Five thousand Dollars from
Tufts, $5,000 from Council of Aging
Personnel updates
Hired Activity Coordinator Position September 21" Sandy Mahoney

Hoping that one of our MSW Social work interns will restart the Senior Breakfast Club with
Beverly High School later this Fall.
Suzanne and Sandy started. Beth is temping working at front desk. Working on hiring a
permanent Front Desk Coordinator
Bill Burke limited to 1200 hours per year as Transportation Coordinator, need to work on this
matter as this restriction will leave us short in the transportation office.
Clare started MSW program at Salem State University. Working four instead of 5 days per week.
The Board voted unanimously for MaryAnn to work with the city to advocate for using formula
grant funds to pay a portion of her tuition as they feel this support is a great staff retention tool.
Two new Social Worker Interns on from SSU and one from Fordham U will complete their
MSW internships at the Sr. Center.
Meetings/Activities
Elder at-Risk Meetings to be held on Zoom. Community partners attend meetings
Directors Report Accepted by Blair Smith, seconded by Barrence Whitfield.
Committee Reports
Awards Committee
Senior Day at the Park went well.
Council of Aging Wall of Fame discussion. Awards to go to no more than 15 individuals and/or
organizations. Awards Committee to meet next week to discuss the process and the event.
Unfinished Business
Covid update. Encourage mask wearing and stay home if sick
Senior Day made profit of$1477.60. Signed up: 216, attended:180. Large group of volunteers.
Volunteer count: 103. Disconnect between number of people attending and volunteers will need
to be sorted out before next year.
FY22 Budget Report given by MaryAnn. Census figure allocation reflects an increase in# of
older adults, 60yrs. and over. This number when it is announced will be multiplied by $12 and
the state allocation of the formula grant will total that amount.
ARPA Funds Request Update. City never replied to letter from COA. Richard will ask Councilor
Brendan Sweeney for update before next meeting. MaryAnn will ask Finance Director for an
update.

BMEA/City Job Description Review Underway. Some job descriptions have not been updated in
25 years
Fees for Activities discussed. Revenues and expenses breakdown not included. Some balances in
the red. One class generated income. Tabled until next meeting.
Thirtieth Anniversary of the Senior Center Commemoration discussed.
Next Meeting: October 4`h, 2:30 p.m.
