Discussion
1.Review of best practices with Alyssa Rayman-Read and draft suggestions for HRC appointment process to share with
Mayor Cahill.
• Review of decision making matrix to support appointments and ensure a cross section of necessary skills on HRC
• Review of ordinance 15-37 which are the governing details
• Those in attendance broke off into groups to discuss what skills should be reflected on a matrix when
considering the appointment of new members
• Each group shared out with the whole meeting to review what was discussed in the break out groups
2. Update from Councilor Hannah Bowen regarding the initial Solidarity Statement regarding violence in Gaza,
• There will be a discussion at the March 11th City Council Meeting of the statement amongst councilors, no
public comment will take place at the March 11th meeting.

• Councilor Bowen is seeking input from the public regarding facilitation of community dialogue.
• Mindy suggested that Councilor Bowen could circle back to HRC with a specific request for support if that is
decided upon.
