1. Call to order, role call.
2. Land acknowledgement. Read by community member present.
3. Logistics updates:
a. 5 open seats, Mayor Cahill will submit one candidate to city council for upcoming council meeting.
Discussion about concern regarding open seats impacting committee's ability to function as last month's
meeting was cancelled due to lack of quorum. Some members offered recruitment suggestions, some
feel there should be a uniform way to fill seats. Mindy to be in touch with solicitor to clarify if we can
meet but not vote without a quorum. Paul and Chief have terms expiring in April. Councilor Bowen
reminded that city council is undertaking an ordinance review, may be changes to language defining
quorum which is currently related to the total number of seats, not related to number of filled seats.
b. HRC website which had been run and paid for by previous HRC member is no longer active. Committee
discussed what to do with the Facebook page and was decided we would revisit in future meeting. Pros
and cons were expressed. All agree we need a way to promote HRC and HRC sponsored events but
concerns about potential comments and current capacity to actively manage. and in mean time Purvi
will monitor/manage.
c. Paul volunteered to reserve library for meetings
