MEETING MINUTES
May 30th 2024 6:00 P.M.
The Beverly Retirement Board held an in person meeting at 275 Rantoul Street, as well
as a teleconference meeting through google meet:

2024. Board Members present were Bryant Ayles, Carol Augulewicz, D. Wesley Slate,
Jr., Kevin Smith, and Adam Travinski. Also present, the interim Director, Meaghan
McLaughlin. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
OPEB Update: No update this month.
A Motion was made by D. Wesley Slate, Jr and Seconded by Adam.Travinski.to
approve the Minutes of the April 19th Special Meeting and April 25th Meeting as read.
Vote 5-0 in favor.
A Motion was made by Carol Augulewicz and Seconded by Kevin Smith to approve the
Superannuation Retirements of Carol Acclavatti - Para- D.OFR: 06/20/24 - 24 years 5
months creditable service- Option C and Joseph$hairs - Police - DOFR: 07/04/24 - 33
years 9 months creditable service- Option C.Vote 5 to 0 in favor.
A Motion was made by Adam Travinkski and Seconded by Carol Augulewicz to approve.
the refund of Doreen.Bennett- Para - I months of service - $1,945.35. Vote 5-0 in
favor.
A Motion was made by Kevin Smith and Seconded by D. Wesley Slate Jr. to approve »
the Rollover of John Heaphy-Assessor- 13 years of service-,$63,705.74 to LPL
Financial.Vote 5-0 in favor.
A Motion was made by Adam Travinski and Seconded by D.Wesley Slate Jr. to
approve the Transfers of Madison Mobilia - Para - 9 months of service - $2,138.56 to
MTRS. Linda Breton -.Para - 1 Month of service - $77.10 to MTRS. Kristina Gonzales-
Para- 1 month of service- $315.94 to MTRS.. Vote 5 to 0 in favor.
A Motion was made by Kevin Smith and Seconded by D. Wesley Slate, Jr to approve
the. Financial information for February and March 2024. Information contained Trial
Balances, Cash Receipts, Cash Disbursements,Adjusting Journal Entries; Cash
Reconciliations, and Bank Statements for. February and March 2024. Vote 5 to 0 in
favor.
A Motion was made by Carol Augulewicz and Seconded by Kevin Smith to approve the
monthly A warrant of$1,500. Vote 5-0 in favor.
A Motion was made by D. Wesley Slate Jr. and Seconded by Adam Travinski to
approve the Monthly AIP and Retiree warrant in the amount of$1,41.4,224.62. Vote 5-0
in favor.
A Motion was made by Kevin Smith and Seconded by Adam Travinski to approve the
Refund Warrant with the total cash requirement being $1,945.35. Vote 5 to 0 in favor..

Old Business: Executive Director Position- Chairman Ayles updated the Board on the
status of the new Director. The Board was informed that the new Director has a start
date of June 3rd 2024. However, she is attending the MACRS Conference so will not be
present in the office. until Thursday, June 6th. Vacatlons and Directors ability to continue
work for Gloucester retirement system once a week were discussed. The. Board agreed
to accept as long ass hours per week are met and the office has coverage.A Motion
was made by Kevin Smith and Seconded by D. Wesley Slate Jr. to approve payment for
the expenses associated with the MACRS conference. Vote 5-0 in favor.
New Business: David Laverdiere Accidental Death Benefit- Meaghan McLaughlin
updated the Board on the status of Ms. Jodi Laverdlere's application for the Accidental
Death Benefit. Michael Sacco's opinion was reviewed, the Board was advised to
request a Single Medical Panel from PERAC in order to get a professional opinion on
the matter, as it remains unclear that his cause of death was in fact related to the
disability he retired on. Michael Sacco has offered to draft a request to PERAC on
behalf of the Board, Meaghan will update Jodi Laverdiere. A vote was made by Adam
Travinski and Seconded by Carol Augulewicz to submit the request for a Single Medical
Panel to PERAC. Vote 5-0 in favor.
The following distributed items were discussed: Mass Retirees- House approves retiree
life insurance increase. -The Allocator Lifetime Achievement Award to Michael Trotsky.

The next Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 6 p.m.
As there is no further business to come before the Beverly Retirement Board the
meeting was adjourned at 6:31 p.m. on a Motion made by Kevin Smith and Seconded
by Adam Travirlski.Vote 5 to 0 in favor.
