Beverly Retirement Board 3-05-2024 The Beverly Retirement Board held a Special meeting at 275 Rantoul Street, Beverly, MA 01915, nesday, March S, 2424 in a google.meetinWdgf-e.cvo-fva, call in#1-4V-719-9341 with a PIN#816 986 618 for the purpose of voting to approve a salary increase for the assistant administrator as well as setting the March monthly meeting. Beverly Retirement Board members present were Carol Augulewicz, Bryant Ayles, Kevin Smith, D Wesley Slate, Jr.,Adam Travinski and the administratorwho all participated remotely. The meeting was called to order 12:04 p.m. The administrator refreshed the board members of the discussion that took place at the February 29, 2024 meeting at which time she had proposed a market.adjustment of$5,350 added to the assistant administrator's salary making a new salary of$62,000.00 and then applying a 3% COLA of 3%which amount to another$1.,860 bring her new salary to $63,860. Chairman.Ayles felt.that the figure was still to low with respect to the salary survey that had been presented to the board. Chairman Ayles asked Adam Travinski if he had any comments and Adam stated that the salary survey he did last year had a benchmark of$67,000 which is what they used to arrive at his part time assistant's salary, Chairman Ayles asked Adam if he could give some perspective as to what tasks his administrator does. Adam stated that his assistant Helps with the daily functions of the work day such as new member applications, beneficiary information, transfer in/out, refunds, make up and buybacks etc. The administrator also agreed that her assistant does the same functions as well as preparing the monthly A/P warrant, all mailings to members and retirees and has started in February helping the administrator balance the monthly retiree payroll. The board members discussed different market adjustment and there were some high and low salaries. D. Wesley Slate, Jr. asked if the positions in both Beverly and Melrose slid the same functions and.Adam stated that yes they did. Adam felt that we should be close. to the $70,000 figure due to how low the assistants salary was compared to the salary survey. D. Wesley Slate,Jr felt that some of the figures given were high and Carol Augulewicz agreed. Kevin Smith stated that he did not have a specific figure in mind but believes that with the administrator's market adjustment which was$10,000 plus a 3% COLA that the assistant's should be.handled similarly with the.board voting it in two separate motions. The board members discussed. using the same logic as the administrator's position that the assistants current salary is$56,650 so by adding$10,800 as a market adjustment it would.bring it up to $673500.00 and then.apply a 3% COLA of$2,025.00 for a total.of$69,525 00. D.Wesley Slate, Jr. stated that during the performance review some issues were brought up and felt that was a big increase. Carol Augulewicz asked the administrator the assistant's attendance has been of late. The administrator stated that it had improved since the last conversation she had with the assistant.
