Meeting Called to order: 2:43 p.m.
Secretary Report: Motion to accept minutes of meeting earlier in June 11 by Rich Tabbut.
Seconded by Susan Feeney and Cynthia Montalbano. All in favor.
Director's Report
Building Concerns and Usage
Parking to be completed on 6/28, with demolition of existing parking lot on 6/27. Brief
discussion on whether there was any change in layout. Chris to follow up with DPS.
Chris shared that the ceiling fan in the hallway was going to be fixed by DPS
Administration and Finances
The budget was reviewed and line items were noted to be spent down as much as appropriately
possible with expenditures of 96.5% of funds budgeted.
It was noted there would be no more purchase orders for fiscal 2024
A motion was made by Susan Feeney to accept the Director's report, seconded by Cynthia
Montalbano, all in favor.
Programs and Events
Planning for Senior Day in the Park remains underway and by report from Chris, everything is
falling into place well.
Chris reviewed the programs and events for the remainder of the month, and those that were
either canceled, or rescheduled due to paving of the parking lot. The trip to Castle Island is
going forward as planned. The BYOT Shirt Pride day was changed to the following Wednesday.
Book Club with Beth was canceled.
There was a new Spirituality Discussion Group held on June 18t' and 25t'', facilitated by
"Andrea" from Harvard University and Cheryl McDeavitt, the Director of Spiritual Care and
Education at Lahey Beverly and Gloucester hospitals.
Meetings/Activities/Clients/Clients of Concern
AA meetings continue to be held in the building and continue to be appreciated.
Susan specifically asked about new elders of concern, none were identified.
Personnel Updates/New Business
Planning is underway for additional educational sessions on the Accessory Dwelling Unit
provision in the city.
Sandy Mahoney, activities director came into meeting to provide an update on Senior Day in the
Park, and answer questions. She reported that there were sufficient volunteers for the multiple
needs of the day. While there were no assignments for board members, they were encouraged to
volunteer as they wished.
Stephanie noted that there would be volunteers at Lynch Park from her bank.
Susan Feeney made note that not only preparedness for warm weather and rainy weather, but
consideration of high winds would be important as well.
Committee Reports:
Grant Committee: No new business
Awards Committee—Voting for Senior of the year occurred. The candidates were screened
with an oral reading of the submissions, and finalists chosen. The finalist's highlights with
notable attributes were reviewed and listed on the dry erase board before ballots were cast.
Voting was unanimous for the winner.

favor.
