Order#286
DelleChiaie spoke about the process and stated the two remaining issues with windows are minor.
Shirley Haynes, a board member of Girdler House, confirmed that outstanding items would be taken care of
soon.
Dole stated, under the ordinance, any violation is grounds for denial unless good cause is found to issue the
license.
Order#287
DelleChiaie stated there were some window violations which were not considered conditions deemed to
endanger.
Lodging house owner Vinny Orlando stated he has four windows on order and is hoping to get it done in the
next couple weeks.
DelleChiaie stated there is a room with bed bugs which can be considered a condition deemed to endanger.
Orlando stated pest control is coming January 5, and the occupant already used something to treat it himself.
DelleChiaie stated there was also an issue with one room's unsanitary conditions but that is the responsibility of
the occupant not the owner.
Orlando stated he expects to have these items wrapped up by mid-January.
Order#284
DelleChiaie noted the only item still outstanding is the heating for one shower which would be an easy fix.
Lodging house representative Elaine Turner stated it could be turned down.
Order#282
DelleChiaie stated the health department would remove the light from the correction order, and the others are
not conditions deemed to endanger.
Rotondo noted there was still no information from the building inspector, who was supposed to be at the
meeting tonight, on if items have been corrected.
Order#288
DelleChiaie reviewed items in the health department report, some of which were considered conditions deemed
to endanger. DelleChiaie stated 490 Rantoul Street has a significant rat problem. Smart boxes have been
installed, and the dumpster should be better maintained. The health department is working with neighboring
addresses as well.
Rand noted there are a couple outstanding issues from the building inspection.
Lodging house owner George Skalkos stated it has all been fixed.
Casey stated the health department has to get into the rooms and see it to check it off the list. DelleChiaie,
Casey, and Skalkos agreed to set up a time to review the items at the lodging house.
The meeting adjourned at 6:42pm.
