Order#239A
Discussion started with Chapter 109. O'Connor stated some of the technology referenced is now obsolete.
There were no fee changes. In Chapter 109, Section 6, information on bids was removed since it falls under
procurement law.
Dole stated he worked with Animal Control Officer Lipinski on Chapter 117. Chapter 117-13(C) does not
include service dogs, which would be allowed. Williams stated that does not need to be specified in the
ordinance.
Williams stated the removed items in Chapter 155-2(A) are already covered by general law.
Williams stated the position in Chapter 159-11 was moved over to DPS years ago so that should be removed.
There was some discussion on removing the terms "loiter" and"loitering" in 210-1(A) and 215-14. Williams
stated 215-4, 215-10, 215-11 are already covered under MGL.
Dole noted the section in Chapter 192 about shellfish and sea worms and Chapter 232. Williams stated it is not
really applicable at this point since all beds in Beverly have been closed by the Division of Marine Fisheries.
In 253-22 the unconstitutional language was stricken.
There was discussion about the Youth Activities Commission in 7-5(I) and if that still exists. Doig stated when
the agreement with YMCA was put into place, the commission was absorbed into the Youth Collaboration.
The meeting adjourned at 6:52pm.
