1966-02-17 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 02/17/1966 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Anne P. Bryant, Robert W. LoveR, Mieth Maeser, Carolyn F. StandIcy, and Thomas J. Tooracy Board members absent: Louisa V. Conrad, Frank P. Hyde, Dr. Cornelius J. Murray, and Frederick H. Pierce Others present: Recorder: Marion A. Brown Thursday February 17, 1966 4 P .M. The regular Trustees' Meeting was held at the Library on the above date with Mrs. Bryant, presiding, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Maeser, Mr. Lovett, and Mr. Toomey in attendance. The records of the previous meeting were approved as read, the Finance sheets, after study were placed on file. The Budget, as yet, has not been returned from the City. For Administration, Mr. Toomey reported that the cost for the lower floor tile would be $100 if the custodians would lay it. It was suggested that when the Budget was returned to give this project some consideration. It was decided to discuss the reading rooms walls at a later date. Reported, also, that the City Electrician would do the electrical work soon. Reports of the Librarian and the Dept. Heads were read and approved, The Librarian reported that Miss Lawlor, Bookmobile Librarian is to be married Feb. 26 and will probably resign in the near future. A suggestion was made to contact Reps. Hatch and Cohn as to what legislation is necessary to have the fines remain for library use instead of going into the City fund as the State Law now reads. Mrs. Bryant will attend to this n~tter. The meeting adjourned at 5: 15. Next meeting to be March 17 Marion A. Brown Clerk
