At the meeting this evening, Mr. Lanphear in the Chair, the committee chosen at the last
meeting to procure a Librarian, reported that they had engaged Miss Lizzie Baker, at a salary of Two
Hundred Dollars per annum. On motion of Mr. Giddings, the report was accepted and Miss Baker
was chosen as Assistant Librarian with the above mentioned salary.
It was also voted that the Library should be open for the delivery of books, every afternoon from
Two until Five, Sundays & Legal holidays excepted, and Saturday evenings from seven to nine.
Notice of the above vote was also directed to be inserted in the Beverly Citizen of June 5th, from
which date the aforesaid voted should take effect.
The matter of Furniture for the Public Room was left to the Prudential Committee.
No other business arising the Board adjourned to Tuesday July 6m.
