1960-10-20 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 10/20/1960 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Louisa V. Conrad, Saul J. Cagan, Frank P. Hyde, Bruce Lancaster, Carolyn F. Standley, and Thomas J. Toomey Board members absent: Russell P. Brown, Dorothy C. Cook, and Frederick H. Pierce Others present: Recorder: Marion A. Brown October 20, 1960 The regular meeting of the Trustees was held at the Library at 4 P.M., with Mrs. Conrad, presiding, Miss StandIcy, Mr. Pierce, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Lancaster and Mr. Cagan in attendance. The records of the September meeting were read and approved. The finance sheets were studied and placed on file. It was advised that the amount to come from the Lefavour Fund for the page deficit be kept as low as possible. For administration, Mrs. Conrad reported that the pointing of the steps at the Farms had been completed as well as the covering of the boilers at the Main Library. An estimate was presented of $89 for covering the Youth Room tables with linoleum. It was felt that for the present the existing tables could be used, and ask for an amount in the budget to provide new tables. Mr. Hyde offered to cooperate in presenting a table project to the Trade School. VOTED to permit the Beverly Credit Union the use ofthe Library Hall, Nov. 15th. The reports of the Department Heads, circulation reports and the Librarians report were read, accepted and placed on file. Mrs. Conrad gave a very brief report as to the survey made by Miss Cahill of the Division of Public Libraries. A full report will be. forthcoming in time for the Nov. meeting. Adjourned 5 P.M.
