Beverly April 28th 1900
The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date.
Present Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Kilham, Dodge and Miss Sohier.
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.
Voted That the recommendation of the committee on circulation with reference to 38 titles present
and 8 titles not present, be approved.
Voted That the action of the committee on branches with reference to the re-location of the North
Beverly branch to the store of Benjamin W. Roberrs be approved.
Voted That the communication from the City Council relating to such changes as may be desired by
the Trustees in the ordinances regarding the Beverly Public Library, be referred to the
Chairman of the Board with power to recommend such changes as he may deem expedient.
The following motions were presented to the board by the Secy. for their consideration.
1 st That from May 1st to Dec 3 1st 1900 the librarian and assistant at the main library have one
afternoon and on evening each week; arranged between them in such a manner as will not
interfere with the business of the library, or inconvenience of the public, and that (a substitute)
or additional help shall be employed in each instance.
2nd That the librarian and assistant be allowed one hour and one half for supper, instead of one
hours as now. They to arrange the matter as to time and other details.
Voted That these motions be referred to the chairman and two other members of the board he may
select to be reported upon at the next regular meeting.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
