Beverly, April 25, 1925
Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held at the Library on Saturday
the 25th day of April 1925 at 3:30 P.M.
There were present of the Board.
Misses Loring, Sohier and Marsters, Messrs Small, Delaney, Porter and Chase.
The records of the meeting of March 28, 1925 were read and approved.
The Finance Committee made monthly report.
Voted:
To approve same.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 71 titles and the receipt of 19 gifts.
Voted:
That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation be accepted and the thanks of the
Trustees be extended for the 19 gifts.
Voted:
That Miss Elsie K. Woodbury in consideration of her good record, be granted 2 more sick
weeks leave, with full pay.
Voted:
That the salary increases as approved at the meeting of December 27th 1924 go into effect on
May 1, 1925.
Voted:
The By-laws be amended as follows:
That the word four be inserted for the word three in Article I, Paragraph IV. A Finance Committee
of four members, besides the Chairman of the Board, who shall be a member of the Committee by
reason of his or her office.
The Finance Committee shall have charge of the account of the Library. Every bill for an expenditure
on account of the Library must, before it is sent to the City Auditor for payment, be approved by two
members of this Committee.
Voted:
That a vote of thanks be extended to Mis Sohier for her additional gift of $50.00 for the
Duplicate Pay Collection.
Voted:
That the Secretary of the Board be authorized to communicate with the Secretary of the Ryal
Side Community Club relative to the establishment of a Branch at Ryal Side.
